My entry into a contest held on design blog The Fox is Black, to come up with a cover for Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet that would feel fresh and exciting. First designing the typeface (a modern take on blackletter forms), I worked the same angles and shapes into the illustration; an image that I wanted to allude to violence and passion.
